I'd 3-bet the flop. The way you played it I would fold the turn.

Some raise this PF, some fold. I'm in the latter but I'm sure you've heard all the arguments there before.

It's hard to say without reads, but I think most villains tighten up at least somewhat when they call a raise. I'm not too worried about him having trips unless he had A2o or something, but if he turned out to be a tight player then AJs wouldn't be out of the question. I think I 3-bet this flop as I smell a weaker Jack.

I also lead out the turn for the same reason. When the BB checkraises though I think it's obvious he can beat top pair. My guess is slowplayed trips, J9 or even a really unlikely J2, but either way it's bad news, and I don't think I want to pay at least 3 bets to find out what he's got, and if we're behind we don't have odds to improve. I fold this turn the way you played it.

i'd fold the turn in a heartbeat. bb has the deuce. i agree with istewart that this is a 3-betting flop (even though i am worried about BB immediately by him calling two cold on a J22 rainbow flop).

Not a bad default play. With the execption of the two new people at the table, this table had been tight overall. I had opened up my PF raising standards a lot. And I had stolen the blinds about 10 times. This is basically when I got caught.

The turn? Why was I even around for the turn? why did I call the flop raise?

I was not happy with how this hand played out at all.

Results:
<font color="white">
BB shows J9s
MP shows 55
Hero wins with a pair of jacks, king kicker.

I had no business winning this, and felt like a dork.

I'd 3bet the turn and raise the river. BB is on a smaller jack, probably a J9s given his turn raise, and MP1 is futily hoping that neither of you have a jack. He's probably on a middle pair like 55.
