Interesting situation in stars turbo satellite
5.50R turbo satellite to 175 WPT-PCA Double Shootout. 24th Gets 27 bucks, 23rd gets 33 bucks, and top 22 get a seat. I spent 25.50.I am currently 22nd of 25 players remaining. The blinds are 4k/8k/400 and they're going up within 2 hands at the pace play is going. There will be 2 players all in in the big blind next hand on the other tables, and I am UTG+2 w/ AQo and a 15k chipstack. What to do what to do.
If I fold right now, I can virtually assure myself of receiving my buyin back, but I will be all in or close to it in the BB (blinds will have gone up to 6k/12k by then) If I win this hand, I will be able to post and last the full orbit without being blinded or anted out. and I believe 1 full orbit is more than enough to last at this point with all the shorties remaining. Note that the BB understands satellite play, has a stack, and will call w/ any 2 cards Note: Converter botched the hand 2x in a row, so here it is raw PokerStars Game #2743700444: Tournament #13183323, Hold'em No Limit - Level XVI (4000/8000) - 2005/10/06 - 22:50:26 (ET) Table '13183323 26' Seat #8 is the button Seat 1: MrXC (39598 in chips) Seat 2: GTeslaa (82072 in chips) Seat 3: DanHasAPlan (7855 in chips) Seat 4: strickttt (41411 in chips) Seat 5: ElMastermind (15170 in chips) Seat 6: dp1102 (54950 in chips) Seat 7: rivers955 (11272 in chips) Seat 8: rubbarose (38918 in chips) Seat 9: H2OGo (23990 in chips) out of hand (moved from another table into small blind) MrXC: posts the ante 400 GTeslaa: posts the ante 400 DanHasAPlan: posts the ante 400 strickttt: posts the ante 400 ElMastermind: posts the ante 400 dp1102: posts the ante 400 rivers955: posts the ante 400 rubbarose: posts the ante 400 MrXC: posts small blind 4000 GTeslaa: posts big blind 8000 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to ElMastermind [Ac Qd] DanHasAPlan: folds strickttt: folds ElMastermind: ??? |

Re: Interesting situation in stars turbo satellite
If you want the seat, push. There would have to be a significant chain of events in order for you to get through your blinds and you are going to need to for the seat (not so if you want to get your entry fee back here, then a fold would be in order). I take it you're hand for hand right now.
You likely get it heads up with BB unless you run into a monster and I don't see AK calling here with the BB still to act (and covering the table). Unless you run into AA or maybe KK you're ok. I think QQ has a tough choice and it is unlikely given your holding so worth the risk. |

Re: Interesting situation in stars turbo satellite
knocking out a small stack isn't worth the 6k from his stack at this point? What range of hands would you call this early position push for less than 2bb with? How would your answer change if you had 100k? or 40k?
And any comments regarding hero's play in the hand are appreciated as well. |

Click "sit out" and go take a dump. I think I push here. You can't just fold your way to a seat and with the blinds about to hit you soon I think you want pick these up so you can survive a while longer. |
