Actually, I don't think that's the FULL reason why he didn't show her his hand.

This as remember, she layed down her hand in the end. If he had showed her the pocket A's, then it would of given her confidence that her laydown was correct.

Remember, the reason WHY IMO, she took so long to make up her mind, was that she thought perhaps he MIGHT be trying to get over on her, as the many pro's had tried to do to her the first few days of the event.

Not a second of thought needed .. perhaps for someone who's played for a while.

However, remember, we already know that the Pro's toyed with her the first few days.

Sometimes it NOT a good thing to show bluffs to those new to poker. From the good point of view, it's good because they will call more hands than other wise. From the BAD point of view [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img] they will then call more hands than other wise (thus perhaps allowing for them to suck you out).

As for the hand in question, we already KNEW that he had AA in the pocket because they showed his hand on TV.

From her voice, you could tell she was still questioning her laydown, wondering if he was trying to push her out of the pot with a valid hand, or if he had a real hand.

Why then, give her confirmation, that her laydown was a good one (even if it took a while for her to lay it down), and build her confidence for later on?

As for taking so long, well, why did he wait 20 minutes then, BEFORE he called the clock on her? Why didn't anyone ELSE at the table call a clock on her either?

I don't see anyone else pointing that out either. Personally, the MAX I EVER give someone in a tournament, is 5 min before I call the clock on them, be it I'm in the hand or not, and even THAT is pushing it timewise.

The players at that table need to suck it up and take responsiblity as well for the delay, since it was THEY who didn't call a clock on her sooner.

I mean after all, isn't it all part of poker as well, to take ALL the advantages that our opponents give to us, and use them AGAINST them in a tournament?

IMO, she was taking FULL advantage of the situation, and using it for HER best interests. Kudo's to her if just for THAT very fact alone (considering what was best for HER and NOT what was best for everyone else).

Wouldn't be an instamuck, first I would look down at my cards one more time, and smile a little to myself, just to add to the idea that it could have been a bluff.
