its not dumbing down though, that's the thing. Things like "omfg whatevr d00d u r like so laim" is dumb. Calling someone a 'moran' has a point behind it, especially when you think that person will laugh at you and point out the obvious "irony".

Although i like ootisms, its easily not contained to just OOT.

For example, the senior citizen driving through a farmer's market is definitely a farkism. SIIHP, YSSCKY and a whole slew of others are ootisms...but for the generic misspelling of a normal word....I don't know, i think that's something new.
