Well, \"I back and I\'m proud\"
I am borrowing part of a phrase from the '60's for those who "get it". Anyway, I had to get back into the fray. I have read almost every book on holdem; absorbed Mike Previt's book on odds; played a thousand games on line and play 12 hrs per day at a live casino games in AC on Friday and Sat and watched a lot of decent poker on TV (not that celebrity poker crap). It is my humble opinion that Holdem Poker (at least pre-flop, no limit) is well over 75% pure LUCK. Just watching WSOP should tell you that luck is the bigger part of the game.

played a thousand games on line [/ QUOTE ] If "1000 games" means "1000 hands," then yeah, it is about 75% luck. |

Re: Well, \"I back and I\'m proud\"
Your post suggests a fundamental error in thinking of the type that will make you a crappy poker player.

Re: Well, \"I back and I\'m proud\"
Milo, I know you are a "Moderator" but I want to meet the players who, in limit HE, are making more than 2 big bets/hr after the rake. Dave Sklansky's and Mason's books still hold in limit. Ask them how easy it is obver the longterm to win 3 big bets/hr. Think it is easy? Ask Raymer or Brier. On weekends at casinos, players never fold in low-mid limit games, and players with paper assholes (as my father-in-law says) play every suited or connected hand. When you get 5 way action against your 88's your ass is theirs. Get real, and backcount blackjack or play no-limit.

What's wrong with 88 multiway? Get a set or get the hell out.

The fact that you do not understand this suggests a fundamental error in thinking that likely makes you a losing player. 3. There are hands here that are feeding you (including mine). Stop biting. |

Re: Well, \"I back and I\'m proud\"
MIlo, perhaps you should educate me. If I miss the flop with 8/8 let's say with 5 players, and I am not next to the button, arent't I about 1:11 to get a set on the turn/river? With 5 players in addition to me, isn't that a bad draw if I miss the flop?(I know I'll have to go for 2-3 bets on the turn). I am a good listener. Also, what is the expected rate of return in limit HE per hr?
