Default Since when is \"My Country tis of thee\" the BRITISH ANTHEM???

watching the all star game and the announcer says please stand as we play the british national anthem in honor of the tragic events last week in London. Which is very nice and all except fi one thing


MY COUNTRY TIS OF THE IS NOT THE BRITISH NATIONAL ANTHEM!!!!

or is it? i dunno i'm just a dumb yank

Yes and no. My Country, 'Tis of Thee uses the melody to the UK (and others) national anthem God Save the Queen.

If i remeber high school history correctly, this was done intentionally so as to mock the UK who was our enemy at the time.

Either way, FOX has the worse announcers on the planet.
