Shelden Williams completely carried Duke on his back while JJ had 0 points in the 2nd half vs. Memphis.

JJ buries a Texas team that pretty much gave up in the 2nd half. They won by 29. He could've scored 20 points and they'd still win. Wow, he piled on points vs. a completely demoralized Texas team taht turned the ball over like 25 times, big deal. Not to mention Shelden's 20-20 effort vs. Tech while JJ was stinking it up, 6-19 from the field.

Please. It's proven by over and over again that Shelden is the BEST PLAYER ON DUKE (screw semantics, important, best, who cares). How many times does JJ not show up in a 2nd half only for Duke to win anyway because Shelden dropped a 20-15 game? How many times does foul trouble for Shelden completely throw them off their game?

Shelden is the central cog of a powerhouse team. JJ is merely the ultimate complimentary player.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well said.

JJ like everybody has days where he couldn't hit water if he was on a boat. Even the best shooters go cold, however truly great players can make a difference when they are cold by getting to the line, or rebounding or passing or playing lock down defense. Frankly JJ is way to one-dimensional to be the best player in the nation.

ummm he does.....he may not have in the past, but he has grown a lot as a player. Theres no way you can still call JJ one dimensional.

Watching him hand 40+ on Michigan State, this was the first guy I thought of. He moves very awkwardly, but makes shots.

well actually its quite close, sayings like this are just dumb anyways. Here's the deal, Morrison scores a lot of points, but is a poor rebounder for a player his size/position, isn't much of a defender, isnt a playmaker for his teammates, and isnt a strong inside presence. If you want to argue that JJ isn't the best player in college basketball right now, then by default it pretty much has to be Shelden Williams. He is a better defender, rebounder, passer, and inside scorer than Morrison. The only areas where Morrison is better than Williams are outside shooting and ball-handling.

you're obviously a blind duke fan, stop posting. Morrison > JJ 8 days a week.

JJ may not be completely one dimensional, but he is defintley more one dimensional than Morrison, and for that matter most stars in the NCAA.
