if you are saying that every player at the table has limped in and you have T7s on the button, then the question is whether you should raise... folding would be incredibly wtupid.

The rock is a forced straddle...so he has to call 40 cold.

I don't like it or hate it. If you're in a game where people will give lots of action if you flop nicely, sure gamble the 40. This assumes you won't get trapped postflop if you hit a pair and face heat. Also if the player posting the rock (or any of the blinds) like to gamble it up lots - meaning the threat of a reraise is heavy - don't bother. Folding this pre won't cost you anything however and minimizes variance (plus calling may be neutral or slightly neg. ev depending on the lineup).

These people go after the rock hard after the flop. It is a "trophy" of sorts for the table. If I flopped a hand like J77 with the T7, it would likely be 3 bets before it even got to me and there would be a possibility that I wouldn't even bet to do anything but call.

Usually, these guys would raise any pair, draw, or any shot whatsoever to win the pot in an attempt to push people out...both of the blinds are tight and are unlikely to raise any holding in this spot (except the usual suspects) but the guy with the rock is about 40% to raise from this position.

If there is a 40% chance of it being reraised, I would fold rather than call 40 cold here.
