Could Someone please explain the whole party skins thing

I play sng's on Party and have noticed alot of threads referring to Party poker and skins. What are skins?? I know the site has recently been updated, but what are the changes that have caused all this concern. I never been concerned about rakeback
and I know this might be quite naive. All the best and thanks for the feedback
