Default The Taj in AC...Friday no limit tournament...

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has ever played in the Taj Mahal Friday tournament. $200 +$25. If so how many played does the event draw?

The Trop has a $150+$25 tournament at 4:15, however due to conflicts in my schedule I cannot arrive in AC before 5 pm.

The Taj tournament starts at 6:30. Enough time for me to stop off from work eat something and head to the Taj in time to play.

I played in that tournament when I was there last week. It drew just over 150 people, paid 18 places, 1st was around $11k.
Every player starts with 5k in tournament chips (good) but the blind levels are only 20 minutes (bad). The level of play was VERY low, and I would think that a good player can easily overcome the quick blind levels over the long run.
Some regulars I spoke to seemed to think that drawing only 150/160 players was somewhat low, so in future weeks it may be more populated.

Thanks. Sorry to read about your bust out in the Bahamas (although I'm sure the scenery was much nicer than it was in Jersey).

I've seen this tourney draw over 300 in the summer. Winter attendance is usually under 200.

I probably won't play in any tournaments out west until the WSOP (I plan on being there for the whole thing, plus the freeroll afterwards). I do plan on playing in the Circuit event in NO in May, and any other large event on the East Coast between then and now. Tell Gavin I said Good Luck today!

In my opinion, the problem with the Taj Friday event is that it takes too damn long. 200 players take 7-8 hours or more. If you dont cash in one of the top places, you wasted a whole prime time night at the Taj where you easily could have made WAY more in the ring games.

That's tournament poker for ya bud.

I thought Jen and Gavin broke up?

Jenn, just to let you know, I showed my current girlfriend pictures of you that were on the net and she said you would be an acceptable replacement for her if we broke up. Thought that would brighten your day. You wouldn't mind a nice Georgia boy would you?
