#2406.

I remember how small it seemed back then with only ~2500. What the hell was it like here on September 5?

Clarkmeister: Hey Dynasty. How ya doin?
Dynasty: Good.
Clarkmeister: Sooooooooooooooooo, who would win in a hypothetical animal tournament? A tiger or a hippo?
Dynasty: What?
CM: Pretend there was an 8 animal tournamnet . . . so who would win between a tiger and a hippo?
Dynasty: Put down the bong, Clark.
CM: Oh, btw, Illinois basketball is going to be really good this year.
Dynasty: Yeah, you, uh, talked to me about this at the 20/40 game today. I still don't care.
MS Sunshine: Dutch Boyd owes me $56,000!
CM: Well, I just wanted to post it out there for discussion.
Dynasty: I'm signing off now. Good luck with your animal tournament. I hope the Hippo wins.
MS Sunshine: The Tiger would win!!! . . . . . . . . . . The Tiger! GRRRRRRRRRRR! . . . . . . . . . . . . . Guys???

183 baby. 10 something pm. Only 8 years and 5 or so hours after that last Marlboro on 9/2/94. But who's counting? Not that I miss that filthy habit or anything. (OK, OK, Murphy might have seen me smoke one since then but it doesn't count.)

Did you ever ask Chuck?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think I ever asked Chuck, although I did post about it at the time. But now it's too late anyway, and all that's left is the mystery. A mystery that perhaps may never be solved.

Yup. Though there is a forum option to change usernames without re-registering so you might be able to do it without losing your outstanding member number.

Funny, although to be historically accurate, these forums have been around long before 9/02, it's just that before then there was no registration.

I really, really hope not. Chaos ensues. If someone wants to PM Mat to change it, fine, but random changings just mess with the whole fabric of the community IMO.

9/02 was the date of the software change. For a couple months after that, you could still post as "Anonymous".

A 9/02 post is regularly bumped in the News, Vies, and Gossip forum.

#163. I was living in Costa Rica at the time and remember logging on in some internet cafe and thinking WTF is up with all these changes.
