Am I the only one who has monitor resolution problems playing at PokerRoom? I'll join a few wait lists at PokerRoom and set my monitor to 1600x1200 in preperation to multi-table. Then when the table just pops up in the corner of my monitor, it changes my resolution back to 1024x800 automatically! WTF?? It's a major pain when I'm playing at another site already and all of a sudden all of my tables are overlapping at the smaller resolution. Anyone else??

PS, Go Huskies! :P

The main problem for me on that site is the table clutter. Look closely, and you'll find that the chips, the fake gold drink holders, and the button are all about the same size. The effect can be very confusing. If they'd just do away with the "drink holders" (or at least give you the option) the table would be a lot easier on the eyes. I sure hope they're reading this thread since they're costing themselves money by unnecessarily tiring their players.

I've made almost the exact same complaints a few times on this forum and in an email to PR. I signed up for a couple bonuses a few months ago. I cleared one and quit. Graphics problems: everything in similar dark colors--chips and drink holders etc get confused. I overlook players/bets in the hand. action buttons are dark, just outlined, on the same color background--they don't grab your attention when you have cards. from some positions either a bet or the button is so far from the player that you can not tell if it is for, eg, the seven eight or nine seat. one time I bet into two players thinking I was button when I was SB. all this is in the context of multitabling six tables, one various sites at the same time. because of the dark buttons, etc, I've timed out at PR more often than any other site several times over. the games can be good, but it is a small site: after some 3-6 to get my feet wet, I played 5-T and 10-20. usually I'd find 1-3 5-T's and one 10-20. LAGs would show up periodically and a game would get really good. but the core players were terribly weak tight. they could be beaten, but it would be miserable. a table full of regulars could quickly get down to like a 3BB pot average. I've seen higher limit games that looked good, but never ventured.

so, yeah, what you said: I gave up on it pretty quick. except I still want to check out the PLO action.

I only have $700 in my neteller at the moment and other in play at other sites. I have around $100 in pokerroom at the time. If I transfer whatsever left in the pokerroom back to netteller, would i be able to deposit this for the reload? I want to cash out $100 so I can deposit $800 tomorrow for the bonus.

That happens to me too. The only way I could avoid it is to set my resolution to 1600x1200 before starting up the software.

I am a Pokerroom fan. For a very long time (2 years) PR was the only place I could play b/c I am a Mac guy. I have since gotten a G5 w/Virtual PC and play on all the other sites too, and still prefer PR. The story goes that PR was designed by Mac users, which might explain why I like the interface SO much more than PP or Paradise. Or, it's just what I'm used to. Either way, I bonus whore the other sites but PR is my home.

In the 2 yrs I've played there almost every day, the only problems I've experienced are the oft-mentioned server crashes. A tip for when/if it happens when you're there: go to the main lobby or, better yet, the lobby of a freeroll that got frozen when the server crashed. A large number of people will be FREAKING out and typing all manner of profanity over and over. "I skipped work to play in this tournament", "I missed my parents funeral to play here", "F this, F that, F you, F you too, no YOU Mfer", "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah". Freerolls are the best, those people completely lose it when the free money dries up. Tease them, you'll see how much fun it is.

I have a few issues with pokerroom.
It has tended to not run very well on my computer at times.
I don't like the tables and how it is sometimes difficult to tell who's in the hand and whose action it is (and yes...lI turn off the avatars).
I don't like the problems getting to your own table in a tournament.
I don't like the random disconnects.

I remember that you couldn't turn off the animation....so if you leave the sound on (which I like to do) you hear non-stop riffle and shuffle on each and every table and it's loud and annoying. The sounds I believe sound off even if that table isn't at the front of the screen.

I also don't like what a pain it is to re-buy in the ring-games. You have to sit-out, then you can go to cashier, and then re-buy. so if I'm running a little low on a given table I have to find a hand that I can fold...sit-out really fast and then re-buy quickly enough to not miss the next hand...all the while trying to act on the other tables.
Having to sit-out to re-buy is annoying.

I haven't played there in awhile so some of these things may have changed since then.

I could be a fan...but there's enough problems there that keep me away.

Horrible customer service.

I was shocked at how many people seem to be clearing bonuses in the casino. The threshold for being in the top 50 for points accumulated in the casino jumped from about 550 Wednesday to over 1000 points on Thursday, and 900 Friday.

I usually play a bit of poker, then clear the rest of the bonus at their blackjack, 2-deck with a 0.24% HA. I pay back about a third of the bonus in house advantage, but it saves time.

I used to have this problem (until upgrading my monitor to one I'm happy to have in 1600x1200 all the time).

The way around it is to change to 1600x1200 resolution *before* firing up the Pokerroom software. Crap bug, but avoidable.
