Default TPTK round 1

It's round 1 of a 25+2 Turbo SnG on Stars. I have $1500 and get AKo in MP. I raise to 80 (blinds are 10/20), the button (big stack after doubling up early) calls and we're heads up to the flop.

Flop comes K72 rainbow. I bet 100 (a mistake by me actually, meant to bet 200), he raises to 500. My play is...

Results later...

Thanks.

Play well,

CCC

I push. Your 1/2 pot bet probably looks like an obligatory bet to the big stack after your PF raise, and the big stack has something (KQ, KJ maybe) and is feeling fat after doubling up.

I smooth call, then get it all in on the turn. He might be making this play with 88-QQ, and would likely be pushed off of that hand if you put him in on the flop. Bet pot on the turn, no matter what hits... it looks much weaker than actually going all in on the flop, and I think he is more likely to now call with KJ, KQ, or hands evne like QQ,JJ or 1010. If he has a set you are dead anyways, so make sure you maximize chips those times when you are ahead.

Sorry, can't wait any longer...gotta go play.

I pushed. He called and did indeed have KQs (hearts). Good call, rattler.

The unfortunate thing is that he hit runner runner hearts to bust me. That's what can happen when you mess with the big stack. Right play, bad result.

Thanks.

Play well,
