According to a post on RGP from a guy with inside knowledge (who has posted several reliable updates on SS2 over the last month and a bit):

"On November 18, 2004 2,000 SS2 books will be delivered and immediately be
sent to the players who have accumulated 10,000 Action Points at
http://www.doylesroom.com. There are 358 qualified players at this time.

The book is only available at DoylesRoom, except for special promotions.
There is no date as to the public release of Super System 2."

The promotion says you have to accumulate 10,000 "action points" to get S/S 2. Any idea how long that would take? How do these points accumulate?

10000 points is the equivalent of $100 rake you contribute. Its probably 2-3 thousand hands at 1/2, less at higher stakes. If your a fish that sees the flop in every hand, it wont take many at all.

I went to sign up today and was dissapointed to discover that I had to choose between the a 35% deposit bonus worth up to $140 (13k AP), or the book (10k AP). I want the book, but valuing it at $100+ seems steep.

Are sure it's an either or? And why are you disappointed? If they offered you something better that's good right? Sounds like ya just don't wanna make a decision. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Something you might try... A few people didn't put the SS2 bonus code in when they signed up but just e-mailed when they had the 10K points and were told they'd get the book. You might sing up for the deposit bonus, then when you hit the 10K points, try e-mailing them for the book. I don't know if it'll work, but maybe worth a shot.
