not sure if this will work, and it's kinda gross, but what have you got to lose?

take a dump in a paper bag, pull out a decent bit of it (about the size of a golf ball), and smear it on your girlfriends upper lip.

Why and how would checking your screen for holes be a joke?

...and came up with the brilliant idea of putting orange wedges in bottles/cups to attract the flies.

Putting out food to attract bugs hoping that you'll "catch them all" is not a good strategy.

Dynasty, you are totally wrong on this one.

A paper funnel, a jar, and a slice of banana is the best remedy out there.

Interesting, Wacki. I guess that's the same principle operating in catching them in a beer can or bottle. They're too stupid to find their way out, same same.

Wonder if it works on roaches.

Their life cycle is like 5 seconds. Make sure you have your house clean, no food or standing liquid, then make sure to flush out your kitchen drain. Do this with boiling water with some bleach, because those things can breed down there, too.

You shouldn't have to do much more than that.

Adult fruit flies only live for a few days, so if you get rid of whatever they're laying eggs in, they'll be gone in a few days. So throw out any leftover food, bottles with stale beer, clean up your dirty dishes, take out the garbage, and they will be gone soon. If you don't want to wait, use some Raid or other indor bug spray. But if you don't get rid of what they're breeding in, the bug spray won't help much, because they will breed faster than you can kill them.
