Default Time to use PokerTracker

Well, after about a year and a little of online play I believe it's time for me to invest in PT. I've heard such great things, and it sounds like a really cool gadget that I'm going to have a little bit of fun with. Before I buy it though, I'm wondering if someone could give me a quick writeup regarding the best possible way to get the most use out of PT.

What is the most efficient way to import hand histories? It seems as though emailing myself every 200 hands would get tedious. What is the best way to go over my stats? Should I post my results on the forum?

Maybe some more seasoned pokertracker users could give me a bit of insight on this invaluble tool, and how they operate it with such a high degree of efficiency. Most of the numbers and values kind of confuse me :/

I'd check the Poker Tracker forums out for these answers.

Thanks for the advice, I was hoping to get a 2+2 rundown (which IMO may be more helpful than some idiots on another forum) but I guess that would be fine. Thanks.

PLUS the pokertracker forums are down, and I'd like to get some info on it before I buy it.

Depending on which sites you play at pokertracker will import the histories as you play or request the histories from the site to your e-mail. All the party skins now store your histories right on your HDD and PT will import them in virtually real time. Hope this helps..

Hmm, I tried out the trial version and when I tried importing files from the Empire folder, it told me that they were no good. I guess I'll figure all of this later.

Is it the latest patch or an old version you had downloaded? The most updated version should work.

I know! I've always had this attitude that it was morally wrong; and would really deprive my B+M play due to me relying on computer software to calculate PFR stats and such. However, I've snapped out of my previous state of mind and I'm ready to invest.

If that doesn't work, make sure to click the "My PC does not update the time stamp on my hand history files." That was a problem I was having too.
