Default Cross Post on the New Forums

I don't know how many of you have seen this thread, but it seems that 2p2 is considering changing the software for the site. You can now view some of the archives from a site they are considering here. I encourage everyone to sign up for a new name (you can use your current log in and password, but you will not be able to post.) and play around with it. See what you like or don't like about it, and then leave some feedback to make the site we all love so much even better.

I will fix it so that you can post with your current name so don't re-register unless you are having problems.

This is only one candidate for replacement forum software. The fact that we have a test installation does not signify that any decisions has been made.

CAUTION: anything you post there WILL BE NUKED at some point. The test installation is just that...a place for people to play around and see if they like the software. Please provide any feedback in the Forum Suggestions forum.

Chuck

I was hoping this was a cross post about the BBV forum, which is clearly the best new forum of them all!!

Chuck, I'm a little interested in what this site would look like with ads. Would they be on the top and right like they are now?

We'd almost certainly keep the overall design that we have in place at the time we'd make the switch. That includes advertising locations.

Note: making the switch is a major undertaking, probably requiring a day of downtime when it happens. We will not undertake this lightly.
