get a long grabber screw, screw it into the bottle cap with a screwdriver, yank it out with pliers

Solid advice...I did this for a whole year because someone kept stealing [censored] from my house, including 2 corkscrews.

this was the best answer, pushing the cork in seems hackish. although so is buying wine and not having a corkscrew.

Put a screw it the top of the cork and pull it out with the business end of hammer...

Or better yet, buying a few of the $1 plastic corkscrews that they sell in every liqour store, and keeping them in the house?
