I could only see this taking place if the players have a private prize splitting deal on the side. If the players are putting up 10 million, I'm sure there will be a few million in added money. The players make an agreement so they are splitting the added money according to finish.

This way everyone gets their buy-in back plus some and they all get credit for playing in the biggest game ever.

There will be so many staking arrangements and side deals necessary for these guys to get into this at these stakes that what we see on the surface - a poker game - is going to be more like a derivative market behind the scenes. The range of outcomes for the participants will be far removed from the winner take all scenario advertised.
