Which unpaired no-heart draw hands that fold the flop will bet the turn exactly?

[/ QUOTE ]
Apparently K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] will. MHIG.

[/ QUOTE ]
well obviously he only bet the river because he thought four [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]s was a flush, so this is, by default, not fair.

5/10 6-max (6-handed)

Villain is a 45/13. Postflop he is normal/passive, playing a reasonable number of hands but not betting or raising enough.

StellarWind,
I read all of your posts and IMO you are one of the best posters on this forum, but given your read, how can calling this river ever be correct?

It is my experience that otherwise passive players sometimes become more aggressive when they can represent a hand that I am very unlikely to be able to beat. I'm unlikely to have flopped the flush here so I'm prepared for both bluffs and aggressive value betting.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm quoting this language because I've been thinking about making a general post how many of us neglect to recognize that even players who fit into neat stereotypes can predictably act outside their categories at times. Thus, a LP player - or even a tight/passive player - can be expected to show high aggression, under the right circumstances.

One of these days I'm going to come up with a list of such circumstances, and this hand could be included.

Stellar:

What's your plan if he checks this turn (instead of donking) after you check through the flop?
I'm assuming its a bet.

If you bet, what's the plan if he checkraises?

If its not a bet, why not?

given this read, IMO he is only betting a hand that beats you.

Bet the turn, bet the river. One bet per big street.

I'd have to think this is very unlikely, right? It would take nerves of steel to go for a value checkraise after the flop checks through.

Which is why I'd say that even though it is unlikely that this player would bluff checkraise, it's not that unlikely compared to the small chance of him checkraising in the first place.

Folding the turn is obviously not an option. I'll pay one more on the river to be sure. Don't induce bluffs you aren't willing to call.

This is the main idea here. Once Stellar checks behind on the flop, he's got to show down.
