Default Grade my FBB Draft!

A Yahoo league, standard 9 categories. PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, Util, Util. $20 buyin.

12 teams in the league, snake draft format. I drafted 6th/12.

1. Tim Duncan
2. Stephon Marbury
3. Chris Bosh
4. Larry Hughes
5. Amare Stoudemire
6. Shareef Abdur-Rahim
7. Jamaal Tinsley
8. Kyle Korver
9. Marquis Daniels
10. Eddie Jones
11. Raef LaFrentz
12. Marvin Williams
13. Shane Battier

I know I'm going to receive the most crap for my Amare pick, but since its a H2H league, all I need to do is stay afloat and make the playoffs, and I'll be adding a first rounder to my team come February. I also like the flexibility of throwing him onto the IL and picking a hot player at the beginning of the season without worrying that the person I drop will be a mistake.

I was also really happy to get my center and PG out of the way, since those are the hardest to fill. I do see a weakness (potentially) in FT% and possibly points. Any other pointers?

(fyi, the first round went: LBJ, KG, Marion, The Diggler, tMac, Duncan, Rapist, AK47, dWade, Nash, Kidd, Ivo)

i dont mind your first half. but you really win or lose fantasy basketball in the last few rounds and you just blew chunks there.

I agree his team isn't great, but Battier in the 13th is stealing.

Which picks in particular were bad? And how could they have been improved? A 12-team league doesn't leave many great options that late...

I would personally tend to disagree... I thought my second half was ok, but I'd love to hear input and reasoning WHY it was bad. I've been playing fantasy basketball for over ten years, and while I'm not surefire expert, I'm definitely no rookie. I've been in an ESPN league with Chad Ford, and won 3/4 leagues I was in last year.

Also, I tend to think that waiver wire movements are MUCH more important than late round draft picks... Kyle Korver, Damon Jones, and Joel Przybilla were waiver wire picks that made/broke teams last year.

I'm in a 16 team league with 12 starters and 7 bench spots. Don't be telling me about not many great late options.

Bosh way too early (yes, even at center). Marburry at least 1 round too early. Hughes a good pick there, Amare too early given that you stretched in your #2 and #3 picks. Abdur Rahim about right. The thing is you got no real steals late other than Battier and Lafrenz (who were both great, great picks for that late).
