Default What is Avery Cardoza\'s rep?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1580421...ks&v=glance
I know Avery Cardoza's publishing group puts out the weak Ken Warren texts as well as Doyle Brunson's Super System series, but does anybody have comments about him as an author? I see that he is writing a NL Tournament book due out in the 3rd quarter 2006. Hopefully this is another smash hit to add to Harrington On Holdem 1&2 and Kill Phil for No Limit Hold'em Tournaments.

I think this link just about sums it up. Where as 2+2 authors are specialists in their field that wish to help their readers, Cardoza is an publisher-opportunist whose books just happen to be about gambling. They are generally aimed (with the exception of Super System) at an uneducated market. He is most well known for his table game books, but he is trying hard to break into the poker market recently. Unfortunately only SSII is worth buying within his catalog, and even then only if you like to plan non-hold'em games and you already have a very firm foundation.

Interesting side note, I'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for the fact that he places his name front and center on all his company's books, nobody would have heard of him the gambling world.

This is Cardoza's latest book, if it helps convey the concept. I'm embarrassed for him, but I'm sure his "publish everything and keep what sells" strategy will work once again with this title.

With all the crap he has put out, you'd think he'd get something right, just on luck.

He also publishs Mike Caro's books including the Book of Tells and has taken over publishing Cardsmiths books (The Championship Series) and has several Chess and Backgammon books written by Bill Robertie.

He publishes reprints of Caro & SS1. Cardoza was not the original publisher, he is resurrecting what was essentially dead books from the grave in these scenarios.

Doubtful. I looked up Bluff and Card Player's tournament rankings for Mr. Cardoza. I'm not gonna bash the man but think I'll take my chances with Kid Poker.
