Following the 200 mile rule
Would have mucked here if I was following the 200 mile rule, meaning that I'd travelled more than 200 miles to the tournament, I'm able to get away from my hand.
From the Party $200 tourney, about five hands in: I'm dealt AKs in the CO. Five guys limp to me. I make it 100. Button cold calls. The third limper also calls. Flop is: KKT rainbow. Bingo . . . Limper bets 30 into the T400 pot. I decide to just call and see what happens before making my move. Button calls too. Turn is: 6x Limper now bets 55. I feel like I've got to have the best hand, so I make it 350 more. Now the Button moves all-in. Then the limper calls?! Now I'm in a real quandry. I can't very well justify overcalling my entire stack with AK here . . . but what do I lose to? KT and TT? Or is it more likely that I'm up against some kings I can beat. Or aces that got stubborn? Who knows? Aw, what the hell, I'll have a huge stack if I win, and I still have outs no matter what . . . Michael |
