Default The Greatest Director of All Time?

The British mag 'Empire' just released a poll of the top 10 of all-time.

imdb link

1. Spielberg
2. Hitchcock
3. Scorsese
4. Kubrick
5. Ridley Scott (wtf?)
6. Kurosawa
7. Peter Jackson
8. Tarantino
9. Welles
10. Woody Allen

so sad.

there's no way this could have been a poll of anyone other than fans. no 'film person' in their right mind would rank QT, Peter Jackson, and Ridley Scott over Orson Welles, Woody Allen, and the 15 or so legends that didn't make the cut (Howard Hawks and Bergman say hello).

my favorite bit: "Surprisingly, acclaimed film-makers such as Star Wars director George Lucas, Charlie Chaplin, and Tim Burton, fell short of inclusion." ...Because Burton and Lucas are such legends, much better than that hack Woody Allen...
