I'd three-bet the flop, and then it plays differently form there I'm sure.

Given the way you played the flop I don't like the bet on the turn.

3 bet the flop.

If capped, then you can call down.

Folding is bad.

I think I'd like to 3 bet the flop. If it gets capped, I'd figure I'm probably up against better than just top pair. Most likely T9 (2 pair) or J8 (straight), or TT, 99, 77 (set). Could be only T8 for top pair with an OESD though. Would probably go into call down mode after the flop was capped on this straight coordinated board with all cards in or near the playing zone. That would have saved you half a big bet if your losing.

Turn card is a scary. Makes a set for someone with top pair. Button raise looks very ominous, but pot is too big for me to want to fold.

River card makes it a little worse, as a KJ now made a straight, but I'd call in this big pot expecting to win at least one in 16 times.

YUP - 3 bet the flop - THEN I become a calling station when the board pairs

Hasn't the poster telegraphed his high pair with his first two bets? Villain is re-raising against a high pair; it seems that, if he were building value for a straight draw, he would call instead of chasing players out of the pot with a re-raise.

I have hero beat on the flop; however, am I wrong to assume that succesive bets before and after the flop, with a 10-high on the board, usually communicates a high pocket pair?

folding is no good. 3 betting the flop is okay since everyone is already in for at least one bet and they aren't likely to fold. if you think button is likely to bet the turn (will he do this with an 8 and then check the turn, or do you think this means he has a T or better?), you can call and c/r a non-intimidating (to him) turn card. in this case, since the board is not great for you, if he 3 bets, you can call down from there.

Ugh. Your flop/turn line ees not goot. When BTN raises you, I put him on top pair, two-pair or overcards (least likely); you've got a couple of players trapped between you and a somewhat vulnerable hand on a coordinated board so you need to 3-bet the flop to get more dead money in and see what BTN has.

Regardless of what he does on the flop, when the turn pairs the board, I check/fold to him figuring he's either just made trips (AT or some such) or his boat (T9s, probably). It's a super-hard laydown, tho, especially against an unknown (any reads you didn't give us? like he's over-aggressive with 2nd pair top kicker?) in a big pot, so c/c'ing down isn't terrible, but betting out this turn is a bad move.

After re-examining the hand, folding the turn isn't right. You're going to see a 20+BB showdown, likely, and it'll cost you 2BB to do it as cheaply as possible...you're good here better than 1 in 10, I think, so call it down.
