Re: hold em hand nicknames
Elizabeth's Nose (4Q) ... a four looks like a nose, right?
Not Spooning (4K), say it out loud. I think it's +EV to take any "lucky" low-grade hand that keeps coming up during a session and name it on the spot. It'll keep the fish playing it and variations of it, and encourage them to... get lucky!!! I'm also surprised you missed The Lonely Bachelor (JKo)... say it out loud. |

I internally think of 54s in red as "The Spanish Inquisition", because it enjoyed a brief week in the sun as one of the most profitable hands in my PT data due to a single extraordinary session. Those cards fell into my hand several times over the course of the day when conditions were right for me to limp into a pot. The flop kept hitting them, and I took down several big pots at showdown. After the third time, I couldn't help but think, right after making that smug value bet that is just certain to be called, "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!" |

Re: hold em hand nicknames
I use Big Slick, rockets, ladies, hooks, hockey sticks, sailboats and snowmen in casual conversation.
I am not a donk. I am, however, easily amused. |

[/ QUOTE ] Points for using any poker terminology in casual conversation. Bonus points if nobody recognizes it. At lunch today, we had to make more room at the table, and the guy to my right ("the cutoff") slid over to me, and so I slid over to him jokingly, then he slid even further to me. Capped on a bluff, dammit. |
