River 5h

SB push
Hero: Did, did you say All-in????!!!!!!

This was a must move table and I had been there for about 10 hands. I played 2 hands and won both. One was a call on a river c/r from a known LAG to take a decent pot.
The villian had not played a hand since I had been there and I had never seen him before.

I took a while to play because I had no idea what to do and I still go back and forth on the right move here. Any input is appreciated.

Call. This looks a lot more like an Ace worried about his kicker on the turn and saved by the river than 55.

Err, I guess A9 beats you too, but that would just suck. Might as well bet the flop though; checking it through just gives clubs and pairs a chance to draw to crack your hand, and anything that will give you action on the turn will give you action on the flop.

Fold. I can't imagine SB doesn't have a lone A at least tied. Save yourself a grand.

I agree, the free card on the flop was poor. I was hoping for a bet from the button, but I need to bet there.

I did call and he showed his 55. I think the call is questionable. It just seems like I'm jamming my stack in the pot hoping for a split. Thanks

You're risking a grand to hopefully split and win 145. I wouldn't call here.

risking a grand to win 130... you don't think he has quads or A9 more than 1 in 8 when he makes this play? besides you having a huge stack with a short buy in game. i auto fold and say "nice hand, sir. your ace is good."

it should be pretty obvious that you shouldnt call here against most... im sure you see that now...
what would be really interesting would be if OP had A9... who folds there?

A9 is a call because enough people with overplay an ace hoping to get called by some moron with a 5

caveat: in what from my experience is a typical live game at these stakes
