Default Live small MTT rebuy strategy

Live 3-table NLHE tourney. $50 buy-in for 2000 chips. One $25 rebuy/add-on allowed in first hour for half-stack (1000 chips) ONLY if you are below starting chip count.

Thoughts? Worth adding on as soon as you drop below 2000, i.e., if you fold your BB on the first hand, would you immediately up your stack to 3000? Other ideas?

THanks.

Rebuy right away.

Read the faq.

Thanks. I couldn't find any help in the FAQ. It's a relatively unique rebuy situation.

Any other thoughts or a link to a previous similar thread would be appreciated.

I had a similar question myself on Friday in another thread since I never played in a re-buy. (The FAQ was very general.) Makes sense to re-buy becasue it sounds like it's almost just part of the original buy-in - i.e. in this case, you are basically buying 3000 chips for $75. Seems like a disadvantage to hover around say 1050 chips and never go below 1000 during the re-buy period. Is that the case?
