Why the [censored] would Harrah's do something that would likely lower the field? Not as many dead money players are going to be able to take 2 weeks off from work in the middle of july.

[/ QUOTE ]

They took 9 days off this year. Very few probably booked their tickets for the whole event anyway, so I doubt this will be a problem. (And if they end up having to take the full 2 weeks off, something tells me they won't be worrying about their jobs.)

5000 players with room to play for 15 days would be a tourney specialists dream though. They truly do that, I'd expect 5+ top tourney players in the final 10.

[/ QUOTE ]

"LOL". Care to make a wager on that?

I think it would come down to the definition of what a "top tourney player" is. Likely they will be very good tourney players at the final table at this structure.

I believe it's the same structure as before, just spread out over more days. Everyone starts out with the same number of chips, and the blind schedule is still the same.

If I finished on the bubble in a 15 day event I would seriously consider suicide.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think you need to play 15 days to get to the bubble. There are 4 first days. After that, I think it's another day or two till the bubble.

We got to the money early day 3 of last year. I expect it to happen the end of day three in 2006. Unless you make it past day 5, you still only need to take one week off of work. And if you make it past day 5, we're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars so I don't think it is really going to impact too many people.

The definition of an optimist is someone who wins a seat online and takes 2 weeks off from work, and makes plane and hotel reservations for 2 weeks.

I imagine the prize packages will include 1 week worth of hotel expenses, and then if you are still alive, they'll keep paying unti your knocked out or something like that.
