You are claiming you played "288K" online hands, before you played your first B&M, which is an hour's drive away. No.

You're calling him a liar because he hadn't played B&M before? Are you seriously retarded?

I've played 150K+ hands online and haven't played B&M poker since a few short Vegas trips in the late '80s. I can easily see getting to over 300K+ hands without playing B&M poker in my present circumstances. I live within about 30 minutes' drive to two different good-sized rooms (Bay 101 and Lucky Chances) in Northern California.

It is the truth. I was never much a casino guy and the online game was my first real introduction to poker. I'd gone to the casino with friends to dabble in a little blackjack, but I was always apprehensive about pissing my money away on a game that you can't win. I liked the fact that with poker I had a significant amount of control over my outcome.

I really got into the online game and have spent a significant amount of time working on my game. I guess I was hesitant to play live for fear of embarrassing myself... I didn't realise just how terrible the average casino player could be. Even after I finally mustered up the nerve to head out to the poker room, it was probably and orbit or two before I finally awoke to the reality of live play (terrible players) and shook off my anxieties.

Primarily 5/10. I hung around at 2/4 for FAR too long. I was beating the game fairly handily and was into something of a comfort zone. I finally started playing 5/10 at Party on Friday or Saturday nights when the games were the fishiest. Now I pretty much play 5/10 exclusively... I guess I completely skipped over 3/6. I don't know that I've ever played a 3/6 hand.

I play full ring exclusively. I just don't have the time at the moment to invest in learning the short-handed game (although I understand it can be lucrative) - someday perhaps. Combine my full time job, family and the desire to do more than sit in front of a computer screen...

I usually play approx. 14000 hands a month. The laptop and wireless router were great investments - they get me out of my office. I can hang out in the den with my wife and feign interest in Desperate Housewives while happily grinding out a few hands. Everybody's happy

Actually I've been lucky in that my wife has been supportive of my little hobby. I was even easier after I took her to the Dominican Republic last February courtesy of my poker winnings.

I'd like to start integrating some 10/20 hands into my monthly total. I have the bankroll but need to work on the confidence.

I've only played live a handful of times because the nearest casino is 2 hours away but yea, the games are generally great. I've played my highest ever last weekend, 20/40. The game was great. Players cold calling UTG raises with A2o wasn't uncommon. No, I don't make even close to my 10/20 6-max 4-tabling hourly but it's a lot more fun. I'll be back.

Wow, since most of your posts are here I am sure you have read all the "2/4 online is equivalent to X/X live" etc. posts. Now you know those posts were right. You should have sat in the 10/20 and waitlisted the 20/40. Since you are getting in so much fewer hands live might as well make them count.

Yeah, I had read them. While I never doubted the validity of those posts, it really is something you need to experience first hand to really "get it".

And as I mentioned in my post I'll be sitting in on the 10/20 game the next time I play. This first trip was primarily about exorcising the first time jitters and learning the pace, etiquette etc. of the live game.

Next time it will be all business.
