Default How does Jesus feel about drugs?

This isn't really intended to be a debate so much, I'd just like to know what the stance on recreational drug use is from biblical sources.

Book, chapter and passage numbers are greatly appreciated.

Jesus's first public miracle was to turn water into wine at a wedding feast. That blows Methodism to Hell.

Alcohol is a recreational drug. Jesus turned water into wine, and had wine at the last supper (some protestants will disagree with this). Paul also encouraged Timothy to drink some wine, but he says leaders (pastors, elders) should not drink. No other drug-related passages that I know of.

Isn't there some passage about "polluting the body" or something to that effect that people use against other kinds of drug use?

Jesus wouldn't have had much to say about drugs, because not only were drugs not as diverse and controversial in his generation, but many of the herbs and naturally occuring chemicals which we would consider illicit drugs today, were actuall an integral part of wholistic medicine back then.

A few years ago when I was still at UGA there were numerous preachers that would speak (read: yell at passers-by) at the free speech platform, and they'd always ejaculate "DRINKERS WILL GO TO HELL". Of course, they were always challenged by the "jesus turned water to wine" argument. The preachers maintained that the biblical passages could be translated such that the water was turned into unfermented grape juice. Your thoughts?

I don't recall Jesus saying anything like this. But Paul said your body is the Temple, so don't defile it. That could be, and is, interpreted in a lot of different ways, of course, but in Paul's context, it was referring to sexual immorality.

That's the one that was on my mind. I was wondering if there was another, since I know they bashed this into us back in Catholic school
