Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP raises, 2 folds, SB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (6 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)

What hands do you want to fold exactly? A9? Q9? Nope. This is not a cleaning up outs situation. KJ, J8?

I think the raise can be for equity.

I think AQs a good enough hand to 3 bet here for equity pre-flop. But the call is also fine.

the flop I like a call better.

I was thinking more of AK or AQ hands.

[/ QUOTE ]if these hands fold, you will not have cleaned up any outs...
if you think MP will muck 22-88, AK, then i like the raise as there is a good chance you have the sb beat aleady... if not, you are often the favorite.

I like the raise on the flop. Gives you a chance for a free card on the turn and fattens the pot for when you hit one of your many outs. Maybe consider a reraise preflop.

There's no downside to raising here, you have enough equity against the SB and MP folding is great for you if he has AK or even a small pair.

You also have to take into account the chance of winning without a showdown. Raising greatly increases this likelihood.
