Default Basic Economics (Experienced economists apply within!)

I'm very interested in economics, but I don't know much about it; the methods or the math. I'm a pretty smart guy, done with college for now, and haven't taken an econ course in my life.

Where can I find some good reading material to get me started?

(If you have some academic background with econ, please mention it)

Thanks!

The Economy Today by Bradley R. Schiller was my college econ textbook and I found it very informative and easy to understand.

Gregory Mankiw was the author of the books used in both my Micro and Macro courses.

Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt is an excellent primer. Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics and Applied Economics are also very good. Here is a link to a list of online econ texts which might be helpful too.

Glad I could help. Personally, I love the subject and read stuff on econ on a daily basis. I could have inundated you but the books I mentioned are a great starting point.
