Default Ho Hum River Decision

Boring, but interested in opinions.

1000FPP Sat into a bigger Sat on Stars

I've got 3 tourneys going so I'm really not paying close attention, so no reads on villian.

I think this is one of those spots where a river bet only gets called if I'm beaten.

River play is a leak of mine.

What's your take?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

UTG (t1615)
UTG+1 (t1810)
Hero (t1465)
MP2 (t1490)
CO (t2385)
Button (t1925)
SB (t2365)
BB (t2055)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t150</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, SB calls t125, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets t200</font>, SB calls t200.

Turn: (t750) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets t400</font>, SB calls t400.

River: (t1550) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks,

I guess a 6 may pay you off, but I dont think you're best more than 50% of the time when you are called so I check behind.

I agree. I can't figure out what the SB is check/calling, frankly, but I think you're either ahead and uncallable or behind and in danger of getting checkraised.

With 700 left on the river I think any bet would be allin.

this is weird. usually i'd value bet this all the time, but your stack is too small that its cripping if you're wrong. check behind, but if stacks are deeper i think you value bet this.

We've already put 2 solid bets in and he's not going away. Missed flush draws won't call, most 9s won't fold now that they've made it this far. I think it's time to just show it down now that the pot has gotten so big and he's going to let you show it down.

You're right, again, given that we don't know if we are ahead. Benneh says he bets again if we're more deeply stacked. What do you think of that?

Default Thanks

Thanks for the replies.

Very basic, but my stack was tricky.

I thought someone would give me crap for my turn bet.

I checked behind, he showed 44.

I'm pretty sure he calls a small bet, but I can't bet small with only 700 behind.

Very ABC, but I haven't posted a hand in a while.

Thanks,
Woodguy
