The only magazine I subscribe to is The Economist. It is definitely long on content, short on fluff, though probably not quite what you are looking for .

Sadly, just like most magazines in general, poker magazines are long on random ads / fluff and short on hardcore content for the die-hard player.

The best poker magazine by a proverbial country mile is the 2+2 online magazine - which is free of charge.

You'll always find a handful of good articles in CardPlayer amongst the 30-40 of them ... but it's likewise available online (as well as free at most casinos).

August Edition (and "On the Edge" part 6) coming soon of the 2+2 magazine...

TopPair magazine is offering a free one year subscription for a limited time. Go to www.toppairmagazine.com to register. The first issue was weak, but the second issue was much better. Even if you only find one or two articles worthwhile, you cannot beat the price.

I would subscribe to 2+2 mag if it went live (as in magazine style with all those glossy pages) -- it would rival cardplayer thats for sure.
