I want to buy a good book on no-limit, heard great stuff about Harrington's first book, but doesn't his book focus on tournament play? I need a book on ring games that are no-limit. Obviously, cash games and tournament games are played very differently. Are there any good books out there that teach good ring game strategy for no-limit, or would you still recommend Harrington's?

Concepts in HOH Volume One are easily applied to no-limit ring games. That's the only book I would recommend to you, nothing else out there is really worth it.

HoH is good for rings games too but I would not say it is the "only book out there worth it." I think that Super System is awesome for agressive NL ring game play.

I'm assuming the OP is looking for a good book covering small-stakes no-limit ring games. Doyle's moves won't be profitable in those types of games.

Thanks, Hold'me! I'll buy the book today. Your remark about Doyle's book not being good for me in low-limit games was very sophisticated. You obviously really know this game. (I tried Doyle's super aggressive method in those games and they just called me! It was horrible!) :-)

I guess we just play against different players. I have had sucess with it although I don't play exactly as Doyle does. I used SS to supplement my game, not to follow it exactly.

is it time for someone to put together a simple FAQ, with a list of the "better" books to read for each gam type and level, order in which books should probably be read and the pros for each of the commonly read books and what they may add to your game. I wouldn't imagine it would be too hard to compile and it owuld certainly cut down on these types of posts significantly

I wouldn't mind offering my services to this endeavor. I believe there should be a sticky at the top of the books/publications forums that lists the books that most posters recommend for the different games.
