Default 65s, typical 30-60 post-skin PP game

Party Poker 30/60 Hold'em (8 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, <font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, SB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (6 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, Hero calls, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, SB calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG caps</font>, SB calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (9 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, Hero calls, UTG calls.

River: (18 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, UTG folds, SB calls.

Final Pot: 22 BB

Thoughts on my flop and turn play? What do you make of UTG's river fold? Did he really fold a straight if he had one? Maybe he had the idiot's end?

P.S. SB was The_Raptor and UTG was anhbuonusa69.

I would think UTG had a set not a straight.

I don't really like your flop line. Calling is ok but I think I like a raise a little better. Would hate making the idiot end of the straight and having KTs or ATs who only had to call one bet on the flop make a higher straight. That, and your equity is pretty solid on the flop...but when you call and then raise later i think it just kinda looks weird.

The turn and river are good.

I vote raise the flop also, there's some chance you have the best hand. Rest is good.

Results:

SB had 88 for a set of 8s. Why he threebet the turn OOP is beyond me. I take down the pot with my rivered flush. My idiot straight on the turn might've been good too.
