Default Poker Stars SUCKS, Paradise Poker is far better

I never forget it when a poker site treats me like a run of the mill player who doesn't matter.

I told Poker Stars Security and Support that I would do this, so here goes the real e-mail exchange, verbatim:

-------------------
me to PokerStars

Can you please increase my deposit limit? I am trying to play 30/60
and a $600 limit is absurd. I just sent an e-mail from another
address (wendellgee21@hotmail.com), my apologies.

me to PokerStars, growing frustrated after waiting for more than what felt like an hour

I don't like sitting around not able to play while I wait for you guys
to respond. Please help me out.

PokerStars, finally, to me

Hello Fernando,

We have received your email and I will forward your request to our security
department for review. Our security department will email you back later
today with more information.

Best regards,

PokerStars again, because they were so slow to respond to my second e-mail

Hello Fernando Delgado,

Thank you for your email. I am sorry but since you have a deposit history
of only one day, we cannot increase your deposit limits at this moment.
The minimum time period for an increase is 7 days, and even then we will
not be able to provide you with the deposit limits required for $30/60

Please note that we can offer you deposit limits up to $10,000 per day,
$20,000 per 7 days and $50,000 per 30 days if you deposit through
NETeller. Most high limit players use NETeller nowadays. You can also send
us unlimited amounts of Western Union deposits and bank drafts. Please let
us know if you want more information about these payment methods.

I am sorry that I could not grant you your request.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Kind regards,

Paul

me to PokerStars, explaining my situation

Thanks for your response.
I would gladly use Neteller, but for some reason Maryland is the only
state in the U.S. that is NOT accepted by Neteller for accounts. I
had an account with them but all Maryland accounts were closed more
than a year ago.

I'm quite disappointed that you wouldn't extend a reasonable request
to a high limit player, regardless of how new I am to your site. I
played on a short bankroll because I expected at least a slight
increase in deposit limits, as I am not the average $1/$2 player. Now
I have to sit and wait for a week just to deposit a scant amount
again.

Paradise Poker has been far more accommodating to me under similar
circumstances, as I asked for an increase after playing 20/40, and was
granted an increase within minutes of my request.

As an avid internet and casino poker player, I'll make sure to mention
to other potential PokerStars customers that you couldn't and wouldn't
grant a reasonable request to a new player. I also frequent various
poker discussion forums and would express my disappointment in your
response on those boards; in fact, I'll probably just post our
correspondence.

As of right now, I doubt I'll ever play at your site again, which is a
shame because I have accounts at most every big poker site and I never
thought I would refuse to play at a site because of something so
simple yet important. I'm sure your reasons are valid, but all I see
if that you don't care about a new customer.

PokerStars to me, they SUCK

Hello Fernando Delgado,

Thank you for your email. I am sorry that you are so disappointed by our
deposit policies.

I reviewed your case again and at this moment I cannot grant you your
request, I am sorry. For us there is just too much credit risk involved if
we grant a player high deposit limits for FirePay when he has no deposit
history.

Please be reminded that you can also send us unlimited amounts of money
orders, cashier's cheques and official bank drafts. For our payment
mailing address, please email us.

Kind regards.

Paul

CONCLUSION

Poker Stars sucks. It's a rock garden, don't know why any pro with half a brain would play there. I hear their tournaments are money, but I'll never play there again.
