Because you thought something meaningful might come of it at the end.

Why, this thread is chock full of meaning, it is meaning personified, the very essence of meaning with nested levels of meaning within meaning. Meaningness doesn't get any more meaningful than this, it's positively spilling meaning, it defines meaningtude. If you're ever required to write an English essay on meaning, you must start with a review of this thread, and quote it in its then-entirety in your appendix.

As for when it will end, little grasshopper, that is best answered with another question - when will the birds stop singing in the morning outside my bedroom window? True, some evil construction company (ROTAREDOM <start here) may one day come along and dump a load of asphault (DEKCOL <start here) on the trees and bushes in my back yard, and the bird singing may stop - but that will not be a natural ending and can only be viewed as an interruption. Should that happen, natural forces will cause the singing to go on elsewhere, as it is irrepressible.

As to a natural ending, who knows, but it won't happen until poker is a burst bubble in the dim recesses of our memories. As for me, I gave up poker a month ago*** but somehow I can't prevent myself from returning to this forum twice a week to check on this thread. In 10 years, 20 years, 50 years, who knows, poker may be a cult pasttime pursued by only a few but this will still be the Effing Test message board with 238,653 replies. In 2000 years we may all be space travellers and inhabit 2000 worlds and Earth may be best remembered for being the birthplace of the Effing Test thread, with 32,887,567,884 replies. Hell, in 5 billion years the sun may be about to supernova and consume the Earth and there will be an inter-galatic rescue expedition to save the early parts of the Effing Test thread, the first 345,726,584,839,002,687,371,842,975,158,483 replies.

So, in short, be glad you read it now while it was still small instead of waiting until it got really big.

***Not true, said only for effect, although I wouldn't be surprised if there are some people who have given up poker and yet keep coming back to check on this thread.
