Default Fighting back at spammers in chat box...

Obviously, you can't chat back at them since they hit and run from the table. One weapon is to reply with "virus link" to prevent one or two from going there. Another is to fill the chat window with text to make the spam scroll out of sight. Problem is the chat is often laggy; it takes too long to fill the chatbox with the four lines needed (at Party).

The solution may be to have a predefined sentence, in a text file, easily accessed by a icon in the task bar, for easy cut-and-paste during fight. What would be a good gibberish sentence, long enough to fill four lines, but not giving people too much of a tell that I wan't to hide something above? In lack of a better one, I start with this:

Testing the chat. Testing the chat. Testing the chat. Testing the chat. Testing the chat. Testing the chat. Testing the chat. Testing the chat. Testing the chat. Testing the chat.

Anyone?

that won't stop anything right then. I think OP is trying to stop the spammer(s) from getting any business right away. plus, they can just set up another account with chat enabled.

In theory, a good idea, but in practice, not, since (1) Party don't punish them enough, (2) spammers easily creates new dummy accounts if closed down, (3) some even pay others to spam for them (according to rumours on RGP).

They will always come back, so the primary goal must be to minimize the damage. And by that maybe minimize their incentive to spam at all.

I like the "virus link" idea. Will definitely use that, and also the repeated enter is a quick fix.

I got an email from my affialiate saying to provide hand number and other info from spammers, I assume they are reporting them to Party, etc. Party should have an easy time figuring out who the spammes are because there will be an aff code linked with the website they are sending the person to. Maybe, they just really dont care, they just say they do!

Can't you just type alternate between period (or any letter) and enter really fast to get rid of it?

4 or 5 lines of:

. enter . enter . enter . enter . enter

should do it too I would think.

. enter . enter . enter . enter . enter

Often the chat is laggy, and it takes a couple of seconds to write each line.
