Default Poker Stars $200 Rebuy Hand

About 61/2 hours in, blinds 800/1600 75 ante.

Folds to cutoff(with about t50,000), very active player
t soprano raises it to 8,000, folds to me in the Big Blind holding Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I have t38,000 left.

Your thoughts on calling, raise, or push?

Push .. no reason to be scared of AA or KK.. and any other raise commits you.

Could probably try and extract more money out of him by just calling but i'd probably play it safe and not have to start wheeping when the flop comes AKT.

Yeah, what he said. Also, in my experience most opponents (but not all) wouldn't have raised to 5BB in the CO with AA or KK, he would've wanted you to play with him some.

He is very aggro and a very good player. Could he raise this much once in awhile just to mix it up?

sure he could, but he still most likely doesnt have AA or KK.. like you said raising that much would be 'mixing it up' so usually he wont (obviously).

Only two hands that beat you, Aggressive player raising from perfect stealing position... I'm all-in.

(sucks that he had AA/KK/AK+suckout)

Ding, Ding, Ding. I did push and he did have AK, caught the Ace and I had a nice dinner. I was just curious if it is just that easy to push or if it would ever be right to call and play on from any non Ace or King Flop?

nah, you want the money in PF there.. you'll fold the best hand too often after an A comes and he has something like JJ

Why push and scare out what is probably a worse hand held by a player who is almost automatic to bet?

I like a flat call, and go from there.

Yes I know that an A or K on the flop would suck, but I want to win some chips here, especially from 99-JJ on a ragged flop.

Regards,
Woodguy

99-JJ is probably going to call your push.. as it looks like a resteal and he'd be getting 1.7:1 odds..
