Default Really annoying high pitched noise

My computer is making a really high pitched noise, however, it only happens once I log in. I can leave it in the login screen, and it won't make a noise. I can't isolate where the sound is coming from. Anyone have any guesses what it could be? I took out a video capture card, and that was not the source.

Might be a fan. Could also be the HD or speakers...

Is this coming from the speakers or from any physical parts inside the computer?

It was really hard to hear where it was coming from when I got close. I pulled out every card I could, and started adding them one at a time. I have left out my modem and an old video capture card I don't have drivers for, and its gone away. I'll never know what it was.

My wife makes the same noise. Anything I can do to silence her?
