Some people have a hard time waking up before 1 pm (me). Considering the many hours of play that need to be played on day 1, it might be a better bet for some people to come well rested and skip the first 2-3 orbits as opposed to playing them but being completely exhausted with 4 hours left in the day.

And your accomplishment and record are what, exactly?

Oh right, how dare I ever question the talent of the great Clonie Gowen:

who cares if you show up late? you can't win the tournament in the first level. i'd rather have T10,000 than T9,500, but for some people it's not that big of a deal.

Yes, but you can get yourself in better chip position, figure out your opponents, have extra time versus the morons who may be gone by the time you get there, actually HAVE the full aount of chips you paid for, and get a feel for how the table is playing in general.

There isn't a single reason for a top player to do this that is not -EV, period. But if sleep/relaxation/jitters/recognition means that much to them, fine by me. I'll be the one taking their blinds and running the table while they're gone.

Flack showed up after 2 1/2 hrs of play. A bit more than 2-3 orbits.

Can you provide some kind of factual verification here? I'm not positive cause I only saw it like once and I was playing .50/1 on Empire but I'm pretty sure when Raymer flopped the st8 to eliminate Williams it was still the 1st level. I could be wrong though, in which case this would be interesting.

Are you really stupid enough to judge her talent or lack thereof based on tournaments?

I'm still waiting for the litany of cashes listing your name behind them...

What is your point? She is not that good at tournaments, as that page suggests, correct? The WSOP Main Event happens to be a tournament. She is not that good at those. She should not be showing up late.

Yeah, seriously. Where are Marv Albert's basketball tropheys, because I hear him criticizing basketball players all the time.
