Crypto Question
I tried to clear the intercasino bonus playing pontoon and busted. Does this happen alot because of the $5 min bet (variance)? It's the first time I tried pontoon and I used strategy chart(for RTG)from Wizzardofodds. Is this correct? Who knows I probably did something wrong I wish they had a option where you could stand up in a virtual boxing ring and and slap the [censored] out of the dealer.
Thanks, J72 |

Re: Crypto Question
I cleared it for +$260 on top of the $90 bonus. I also used to WoO strategy. Sorry it didn't work out better for you.

Re: Crypto Question
Jess - I wouldn't worry about busting out. I'm sure it'll happen to me next month...
It was my first time playing pontoon and I think it takes some getting used to the strategies. Basically WoO has you standing any time you are allowed (over 14) UNLESS you have a shot at a 5 card trick. This means that you're always standing on 15 or more. If you only have 15 or so you're just hoping the dealer busts. In my mind the big key is that when you have 4 cards you MUST 'buy' (double down in BJ parlance) if you haven't yet and you have 16 or less. If you're thinking that will mean you bust a lot, you're right. But keep in mind that when you hit the 5 card trick you get paid 2:1 (and on 2 X your original bet since you doubled down). Let's say your original bet was $5. When you double down and bust (or the dealer ties you), you lose $10. When you hit it you win $30 (which includes your original bet and the double down bet). In other words if you hit the trick once in 4 tries you break even. The odds of hitting the trick are better than this. Also remember that if you don't hit you're probably going to lose a lot of those hands anyway (again, 15 or so is NOT a winning hand). But the point is that it is the correct play mathematically, and that's all you can do. |

This is something I didn't do and lost out on some money!! VN Post! [/ QUOTE ] You really need to use the strategy chart next time. Chances of busting when hitting a 4 card 16 are about 9:5, but when you don't bust you get paid 2:1. It's one of the easiest pontoon decisions to make. The easiest, of course, is buying on a 4 card soft 21. I love those. |

Re: Crypto Question
I busted out too this month. Its the first time I tried pontoon (I tied with the dealer a whole lot of times, this is how I busted out). I love the casino whoring and will probably go back to multi hand blackjack. Don't worry about busting out, it happens everyone and a while. Just stick to the right way to play and you will do fine!

Re: Crypto Question
There are much bigger swings in pontoon. You either bust out quick or get really rich.

Re: Crypto Question
So what is the best way to go at this game with the $90 bonus, $5 bet at a time, bump it every once and a while, go big go home tactic????
