Default Hand #1 Multiway, KK with position

3/6 live full table
BB is a thinking and tricky player. He has been aggressive with draws and I've seen him C/R with the goods before.

Hero is in MP with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

3 limps, Hero raises , Button calls, BB calls, limpers all call.

FLOP (6 players, 12 SB)

7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

4 checks, Hero Bets, Button calls, BB raises (c/r) , 1 call, 2 folds, Hero calls, button calls.

Turn (4 players, 10 BB)

3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB Bets, 1 call, Hero calls, Button Folds

River (3 players 13 BB)

3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB Bets , 1 fold, Hero raises,

This is the best of my recollection, actual pot size and such may be off a little.

if I'm not 3betting the flop it's so I can pop the turn.

if the river is a blank are you just calling?

I think it is almost never correct to wait to the river to raise when:

1. The pot is multiway.
2. Your hand is vulnerable.
3. There are many hands that your opponents could have on the turn which have a bunch of outs against you.

In general, the more players in the pot, the more reason not to wait until later streets to get aggressive (not only because your hand is much more vulnerable multi-way and so raising has protection value but also because you generate good value by making multiple opponents put bets in).

Here, since the flop is 4-handed, I just go ahead and three-bet the flop.

3-bet the flop your not closing the action and this isn't heads up.

I put the BB on 2 pair after the C/R. What do you put him on?

Not QQ or JJ, he'd probably reraise preflop.

QJ is possible, but so is AQ, KQ, QT, etc. TP checkraise is a standard play from the blinds against a preflop raiser. If you don't raise the flop (which I would have,) you have to raise the turn - don't give him a cheap chance to hit his kicker. Also to get the callers out.

Hi LLL given your read that is to narrow of a range IMO. I think your ahead here quite a bit. The pot is big and there is no reason to give the button a cheap look at the turn.

Thanks for the input guys. BB held AQ and I missed out on value and failed to protect my hand. I think that I respect c/r's too much.
