Default Starting hand selection

I'm just getting started in shorthanded no-limt texas hold-em, and was just wondering how much looser, I should be playing from a normal ring game. What should my starting hand requirements from different positions? Are there any books with a chart with this info.

No books of which I am aware. Suggest you search past posts as there have been some charts presented here. I don't have the links, but you can probably find them.

Don't raise with KJs or KJo. This hand is costing me a fortune. Just throw it away.

You're not playing it right then. Certainly worth a call in MP and depending on the game texture it's worth raising from late position.

Maybe. From my experience, the hand is a bit overrated. But I might be wrong.

It's not overrated. It's not a powerhouse, but it's definitely +EV.
