Default 5/10 Hand against a TAG

Villain was a 24/16/2.9 TAG. I had stolen his BB each of the last three times he was the BB, so I thought the was getting fed up with it and decided to make a move. Two other things led to my flop play: 1. He usually waited until the turn to get aggressive with a big hand, and 2. He had folded to my 3 bet on the flop in previous hands.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Flop: (4.40 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB caps</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (6.20 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (8.20 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB folds.

Final Pot: 9.20 BB

Two questions: Is the flop 3 bet too much? Also, would calling the flop CR and then raising him on the turn be a better line? I thought about that, but I was afraid that it would end up costing me alot of money if he in fact had the T. Thanks for any replies.

In an attack on a guys blinds, 2 overs, the gutshot, and backdoor flush draw.. thats almost always worth 3-betting IMO. Too many players are overzealously protecting their blinds. I think you played it well. Raising the turn is a bad idea IMO, if he has the 10, you are well behind and facing a 3-bet. If he has a 9, you risk him folding. The only other scenario is a slowplayed big PP, and I really feel this is highly unlikely.

I like it. Three bet and take control of the hand. What was your line if the turn had come a blank?

The river bet seems pretty bad. The only hand that will call you is QJ.

Sorry, that should be "The only calling hand you can beat is QJ".
