Is there a way to check how high your resolution on your card goes without actually buying a $500 monitor first?

First of all, you know the answer will be yes, so you might ask "I have a xxx controller, but don't know what resolutions it support" istead and you would have gotten a good answer directly.

Ok, sorry I will ask better questions from now on.

1600 x 1200 8, 16, 32 60, 75, 85 2D + O
1600 x 1200 8, 16 100 2D

is what MyMindisGoing so politely provided me with. Is 2D + 0 the thing I want?

(P.S. Yes I have searched google for it and all it gave me was like a Nvidia tweak guide)

P.S.S. Ok, I have also asked around for this following question to no avail. How do I know if I have a single card/dual or what number it is. God, I feel like a moron but I looked under sstem information and dxdiag and did not find it there.

2D + I is what you want yes. That will allow you to run standard windows applications at that resolution as well as playing movies in fullscreen. The easiest way to see if you have a dual output (if that is what you mean) is to look in the back of the computer. If there is an extra "VGA" (blue) or DVI (white) output then you have it.
