Default PM\'s on Party?

I was reading some FAQ by a previous 2+2 poster and he said...

The standard procedure for talking with a 2+2er on a table is to give the "sup bro" or "brown trout" sign, then, if acknowledged, add the person to the buddy list and send PMs that the table can't see.

How do you send PM's that the table can't see?

Wouldn't people be able to use this to cheat? That is, to collude with another player at a table?

They cooooould. But why wouldn't they?
Maybe becuase, each time you type something and send it as an invite (PM) they have a log.

Probably not the best of ideas.

Yeah, that would be much easier than using IM, or, you know, talking on the phone.

I'm sure they can log any of it , or probably do automatically. You'd have to be an idiot to use their software to send cheat msgs.
