First Player Bonuses!

I don't play a lot of internet poker, playing mostly in a couple weekly home games, occasional tournament and trip down to Commerce/HP.

However, I was bored, and an ad for a 30% bonus @ PartyPoker popped up somewhere. I decided to take the plunge.

I was aware of the "minimum # raked hands". What I didn't read (always read the fine print!), was that my $500 buyin/$150 bonus would require 1050 hands! And I really only like playing the sitandgos.

I got it done, playing 25-100PL HE/O8, and won another $100 in the process.

However, a couple questions. Are there any better deals out there and is this something worth doing?

Check the internet forum, there are a whole group of players who do little more than bonus whore sites. Homer posted an estimant of what they could make from doing this and I believe it ended at around +12K/year as nothing more than a break even player.
